Reeve handles the triage — and refuses to talk anyone through a DIY spring replacement, ever — so you only see the calls that need a truck.
What gets handled
- Service-call intake. Reeve answers, asks the right questions (door type, opener brand, what's failing, stuck open or closed), and books the slot — with the details you need to walk in with the right springs and rollers on the truck.
- Spring-work flagging. Spring replacements don't get phone-quoted. The injury risk if a customer tries to DIY based on a phone description is real. Reeve always books an on-site measure for spring work; never quotes it sight-unseen.
- Emergency stuck-open dispatch. A door stuck open is a security exposure — Reeve treats it as priority, applies your after-hours surcharge if applicable, and books the next available slot. Never refers customers to YouTube DIY videos, regardless of how the request is framed.
- Quotes for opener swaps. When the customer sends a photo of the existing motor and rail, Reeve can quote a routine opener swap from your standard catalog. Anything ambiguous gets flagged.
- Invoicing and collections. Invoice ships from the truck after the job. Past-due follow-ups go out automatically. Payment lands in your Stripe account.
Why this fits garage-door work specifically
Garage doors are high-injury-risk work — torsion springs store enough energy to put a customer in the hospital, and the customer doesn't know it. The qualification conversation is the safety layer: the right answer to "can you talk me through fixing this myself" is always "no." Reeve runs that script the same way every time, regardless of how persuasive the customer is.
